Chief Master Sgt. Joshua B. Leggett is the Senior Enlisted Leader Flight Engineer of the 192nd Airlift Squadron at the Nevada Air National Guard Base in Reno, Nev., with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. In this role he ensures effectivenss and safety of flight operations with the flight engineer section.

Chief Master Sgt. Leggett began his military journey into the NVANG shortly after graduating from Galena High School in July 1998. After completing basic military training, he continued to excel in his Aeronautical Maintenance technical training course at Shepard Air Force Base (AFB), Texas, in February 1999.  In January 2010, he attended C-130 Flight Engineer school at Little Rock AFB, Ark. after 11 years of being a C-130 crew chief. He returned to Little Rock AFB in September 2016 to become a C-130 Instructor Flight Engineer, and later became evaluator and modular airborne firefighting system (MAFFS) qualified. Chief Master Sgt. Leggett joined the Nevada Counter Drug Program(NV CDP) in April 2012. In June 2015, he graduated from the Joint Force Ground Reconnaissance Phase II school at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. Chief Master Sgt. Leggett has participated in many domestic operations, exercises and overseas operations including IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, OPERATION NEW DAWN, OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE, OPERATION FREEDOM SENTINEL, OPERATION CORONET OAK, OPERATION JOINT FORGE, Exercise Patriot, Exercise Vigilant Sentinel, Exercise Allied Forge, and relief efforts for Hurricanes Irma and Maria, in addition to serving in six overseas deployments. Throughout his career, Chief Master Sgt. Leggett has served in various capacities, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in every role. In addition, as a drill status guardsman Flight Engineer Senior Enlisted Leader, he supervises 17 Flight Engineers. Since becoming a flight engineer in 2010, Chief Master Sgt. Leggett has flown over 2300 hours,150 combat hours, and executed 58 MAFFS airdrops.
