LAS VEGAS –
The Las Vegas Chamber recognized three members of the Nevada National Guard during its annual Military Affairs Committee (MAC) Night Out on May 7 at the Westgate Hotel ballroom.
Nevada National Guard personnel included Sgt. Quinn Mears, recruiter, Nevada Army National Guard; Tech. Sgt. Angela Crawford, public affairs specialist, Nevada Air National Guard State Headquarters, and Darci Bartalomy, coordinator, Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG).
“MAC Night Out is more than just an event — it’s a powerful reminder that our service matters to the community we proudly serve,” said Lt. Col. Desirée Broussard, Nevada Air National Guard, who served as the event's emcee. “It brings together civic leaders, business partners, and military families to celebrate the deep bond between Las Vegas and its military members. For the Nevada National Guard, this kind of support strengthens our morale, fosters connection, and reinforces our mission to serve both state and nation with pride.”
Originally launched in 2019, "MAC Night Out" is hosted by the Vegas Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee (MAC), including active-duty personnel, Guardsmen, veterans, and their families. Local businesses sponsor various award categories, such as Airmen, Non-Commissioned Officer, Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, and Company Grade Officer. The committee works to recognize military excellence, connect local businesses with military installations such as Nellis, Creech, the Nevada National Security Site and the Nevada National Guard and those who serve.
HONOREES:
Tech. Sgt. Angela D. Crawford, public affairs specialist, Nevada Air National Guard State Headquarters, enlisted in 2019 and has supported both Air Force and Department of Defense missions by producing operational imagery, managing internal and external communications, and documenting critical events. Crawford has also contributed to the State Partnership Program and currently serves as the Drug Demand Reduction Outreach Program Manager for the Nevada Counterdrug Program, providing support for 13 law enforcement agencies. She was named Nevada Air National Guard Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year in January.
“I'm honored to receive this recognition and thankful to the Vegas Chamber for their support of our military community,” Crawford said. “These awards are a reflection of the collective effort of everyone in the Nevada National Guard, and I'm so proud to be part of it."
Sgt. Quinn Mears, NCO of the Year for the Nevada Army National Guard, is a combat engineer who joined in 2021 at age 34. A former sales team leader in Hawaii as a civilian before he joined the military, Mears served with the A227 Engineer Battalion in Hawaii, and recently on the CERFP (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Enhanced Response Force Package) Team. In 2023, Mears won the Region 7 Best Warrior Competition for Hawaii and represented the state at the national level. He now serves as a recruiter in Nevada, known for his dynamic leadership and commitment to both his military and civilian endeavors.
Darci Bartalomy, a proud military spouse and mother of three who has dedicated over seven years to supporting military families as an SFRG Coordinator, has supported units including the 92nd Civil Support Team, the 757th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, and currently the 17th Sustainment Brigade during its deployment to the Middle East. She provides essential communication, emotional support, coordination of aid, and volunteer efforts for more than 250 families.
The event highlighted the important connection between the Nevada National Guard and the local community, demonstrating the ongoing collaboration between military members, their families, and Southern Nevada businesses, Broussard said.
“The recognition of Crawford, Mears and Darci Bartalomy reflects the dedication and service that shape the Guard’s role in the region,” she said. “As the military and business sectors continue to work together, the strong partnerships formed at events like MAC Night Out ensure that the contributions of service members are acknowledged and supported, both on and off the field.”
