State Partnership Program NCO Honored for International Efforts

Nevada Air Guard Tech. Sgt. Hannah Kasner works the security detail safeguarding Air Force One while it was in Reno, Nevada, in 2020. Kasner was honored by the College of Southern Nevada in October 2023 for her work linking the college and Fiji National University under the State Partnership Program.
Nevada Army Guard leaders visit Fiji for Exercise Cartwheel

Nevada Army National Guard leadership, including Brig. Gen. Troy Armstrong, center, visited with Soldiers and military personnel from allied partner nations in the South Pacific Sept. 23-24, 2023, during Exercise Cartwheel 2023, a multinational military training exercise conducted in Fiji this month. Nevada National Guardsmen and service members from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Fiji, are training during the exercise.

Gibbs is one of just two Army Guard Soldiers nationwide to receive the Army National Guard's Distinguished Ground Safety Award for 2023. The Nevada Army Guard has not recorded a Class A or B on-duty accident since Gibbs was hired as the state's safety specialist in 2019.
